Zanzibar

Zanzibar is part of the Republic of Tanzania and is an archipelago near the African coast, that consists of several islands, the largest being Unguja and Pemba. Unguja, known as Zanzibar Island, is the largest, with an area of 1658 kmp. Its capital, Zanzibar City is famous for its old town, Stone Town with narrow streets, shops, bazaars, mosques and buildings that combine elements of Arab, Persian, Indian and African styles, a true mix of cultures. The turquoise ocean waters with coral reefs and the fine white sandy beaches make Zanzibar a very attractive exotic destination.
