The resort was built with a unique architecture of interconnected cottages, then private residences for the Rothschild family. Right next to the slope, you will soak up the fragrant smell of bubbly wine, and inside, the dark oil paintings, wooden beams and Persian carpets recall the Megèvan style pioneered by the hotel’s original architect, Henry Jacques Le Même. Under the Four Seasons umbrella, the hotel was renovated by designer Pierre-Yves Rochon to include ethnic pieces from the Rothschild family’s travels and artwork. According to the setting, the hotel’s 55 rooms are true mountain retreats, with portraits, impressionist paintings and furniture covered in faux fur blankets and leather pillows. Another area where the hotel is a true showcase of French character and Alpine tradition is the restaurants and bars. Le 1920, with its wooden ceiling and outdoor terrace, is all about traditional French cuisine. Bar Edmond is a place for fine wines and creative cocktails. The hotel also houses a wine cellar, a cigar room and a lobby lounge with a welcoming atmosphere for a relaxed coffee or après-ski cocoa.
